In response to the growing topic of regulating nail salons, Assemblyman Ron Kim and his office recently hosted a workshop on June 4th within his district. Collaborating with the Korean American Nail Association, this workshop raised awareness for hundreds of nail salon operators on healthy and safe work environments for their technicians, in addition to the rights of their workers. A large number of salons at the workshop voluntarily signed a pledge concerning proper treatment of specialists, and were given a Bill of Rights regarding their workers’ rights to display as well. Assemblyman Kim endeavors to first educate nail salons before commencing enforcement for a long term solution in the nail salon industry.
