Assemblyman Gray Celebrates Completion of Ogdensburg Public Library’s ADA Lift Project

Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown) today joined community members to celebrate the completion of the Ogdensburg Public Library’s new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) lift on the building’s west side. This important accessibility project, made possible in part through an aid grant from Gray as well as the generous support of local donors and organizations, ensures every resident can access the library’s resources and programs.

“The Ogdensburg Public Library is a place where the community comes together, and it’s important that everyone, no matter their mobility, can come through those doors and feel welcome,” Gray said. “I’m grateful I could help support this project with an aid grant, and I know this lift will make a real difference for residents for many years to come.”

The completion of this project was a true community effort. In addition to the aid grant from Gray, funding and support were provided by the bequest of Brendan M. Lynch, the Northern New York Community Foundation, the Daughters of the American Revolution – Swe-Kat-Si Chapter and numerous private donors and community volunteers.

Gray extended his gratitude to everyone involved, stating, “This project wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and hard work of so many: our local organizations, volunteers and donors. Seeing everyone come together for something that benefits the whole community is incredibly rewarding, and I’m thankful to be part of it.
