Assemblyman Gray Welcomes Brian Murray
A Statement by Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown)
Assemblyman Scott Gray announced today that Lisbon resident Brian Murray will be joining the Office of Assemblyman Scott Gray on a part-time basis, working out of the Canton district office to strengthen constituent services across the 116th Assembly District.
“Brian’s experience in rural and local government work is a real asset for the community,” Assemblyman Gray said. “This office is proud to welcome him to the team and excited for the added capacity, responsiveness, and local knowledge he brings to helping constituents navigate state services and resolve issues.”
Brian Murray brings more than two decades of public service experience, including leadership as State Director with USDA Rural Development, where his work helped direct significant investment into rural communities and supported projects that strengthened local economies and quality of life.He has also been instrumental in supporting first responder services across the state. Murray began his career with USDA Rural Development in 2002.
Brian's work with Rural Development gives him a keen perspective on issues within our communities regarding housing, community facilities, healthcare, energy projects, broadband, infrastructure such as water and wastewater, and, most definitely, first responders. Brian, a lifelong New York resident, resides in Lisbon and is active in the community through his service on the St. Lawrence County Planning Board, his work with his local fire department, and his recent election to the Town Board of Lisbon.
