Pheffer Amato Reminds Community of Paper Shredding and Flood Barrier Event!

South Queens, NY – New York State Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) is encouraging all residents to come out on Sunday, July 30th to Queens County Savings Bank at 82-10 153rd Avenue in Lindenwood, near the Food Emporium, for a paper shredding sponsored by the Assemblywoman and Senators Joseph Addabbo and Roxanne Persaud.

The paper shredding event will occur from 12-2pm in the bank parking lot. Paper shredding events sponsored by the Assemblywoman and Senators are heavily requested by residents and allow individuals to bring documents and papers of any kind to be safely shredded on site.

In addition, Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato has partnered with the Department of Environmental Protection and will be offering flood barriers to the residents of 11414, 11416 and 11417 who reside within the 23rd Assembly District. The inflatable barriers range in size and can be used to prevent water from entering a property. “While the State is making tremendous progress towards flood mitigation in South Queens, this is my way of providing some additional support for my constituents who deal with flooding,” said Pheffer Amato. Those interested in getting a flood barrier must call the Assemblywoman’s office at 718-945-9550 to RSVP and live within the bounds of the 23rd Assembly District.
