Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) voted against the Assembly Majority’s so-called ‘DREAM’ Act, which would provide taxpayer-funded tuition assistance to illegal aliens. In voting against this legislation, Barclay cited that middle-class families already are struggling to make ends meet and send their children to college and that providing assistance to those who are here legally should take precedence over supporting illegal aliens with tax dollars.

“The ‘DREAM’ Act is another example of the Assembly Majority overlooking the needs of middle-class families in New York,” said Barclay. “We shouldn’t even be discussing providing taxpayer funds to illegal aliens while so many of our families are struggling to put food on the table and send their children to college. Simply put, it’s irresponsible and unfair to the New Yorkers who are here legally, playing by the rules.”
