Barclay Joins New York Highway Superintendents at Albany CHIPS Rally
Today, Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I,Ref-Pulaski) joined with local highway superintendents across the state to call on the governor and the Legislature to include much-needed funding in the budget to help repair damaged roads and highways.
Each year, Im pleased to stand with highway workers from across the state to advocate for funding for the Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS), said Barclay. This program plays a critical role in the maintenance, repair and upkeep of roads and highways in my district, and its crucial we offer adequate funding to ensure our roads are safe for travel. In upstate New York, damaged roads are far too common and its nearly impossible for localities to maintain them alone. With adequate CHIPS funding, local communities can fix the roads that need repair and help ensure our families can travel safely.
