Barclay Encourages Homeowners To Apply For Lake Flood Assistance By Oct. 31
A statement from Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I-Ref-Pulaski) in response to announcement that those homeowners affected by flooding along Lake Ontario may now apply for assistance under the 2019 Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Flood Relief and Recovery Program. I was pleased to learn that the state has officially opened the application process for homeowners affected by the devastating floods. I have continually pushed for all private property owners affected by the floods to be eligible for state funds. It is my understanding that private businesses such as marinas may also qualify for assistance. This is welcome news and more details will be forthcoming.
For now, homeowners only have until Oct. 31 to apply so it is important that those eligible apply as soon as possible. Secondary homeowners should also apply. Though funding preference will be given to primary homeowners, I will keep pushing for more recovery funds to be allocated for all private property owners. In addition, I will continue to push for the revocation of Plan 2014.
