Barclay Receives NFIB’s 2020 ‘Guardian of Small Business’ Award
Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) was selected as a National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) 2020 “Guardian of Small Business” for his strong support of the state’s small businesses and his outstanding voting record on bills pertaining to the state’s business climate.
“I am extremely thankful to receive this incredible honor. In my time as a legislator representing upstate New York and as leader of the Assembly Minority Conference, I have always been committed to making it easier to do business in New York,” said Leader Barclay. “We continue to face a challenging business climate and critical process of economic recovery. I am committed to fighting for lower taxes, job growth and sustainability and eliminating unnecessary regulations.”
The NFIB is a leading small-business advocacy group in New York and across the nation. It was founded in 1943 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit group to give small business owners a voice in the legislative arena. The Guardian Award is the organization’s highest honor bestowed upon state legislators.
“Leader Barclay has been a champion for the small-business community and his efforts have been critical in protecting the interests of small and independent businesses across the state,” said Greg Biryla, New York State Director for NFIB. “We look forward to continuing our important work to together ensure every small-business owner in New York has the tools, resources and support they need to thrive.”
