Magnarelli: $110M in State Aid for Area School Districts
Funding increased over last year
Syracuse – New York State Assemblyman William B. Magnarelli (D-120) announced that in the final 2008 – 2009 State budget, close to $382 million in aid for Baldwinsville, Jordan-Elbridge, Solvay, West Genesee and Westhill School Districts. For Onondaga County, the total school district state aid is $622 million.
“I am happy to announce that in the final 2008 – 2009 State budget, the 120th District schools will receive close to $110 million,” Magnarelli said. “Significant increases in funding over last year help our schools continue providing excellent education for all our students.”
In addition, the school districts will see an increase in state aid for Universal Pre-Kindergarten and BOCES over the 2007 – 2008 budget.
In this year’s budget, the 120th Assembly District Schools will receive:
- $2,659,665 increase to $39,594,134 in state aid for Baldwinsville School District
- $684,059 increase to $14,745,433 for Jordan-Elbridge
- $1,580,334 increase to $13,979,042 for Solvay
- $2,557,133 increase to $29,790,098 for West Genesee
- $765,748 increase to $11,878,165 for Westhill
