Assemblyman Magnarelli Announces $5,000 for RLS Career Center
Assemblyman Bill Magnarelli (D-Syracuse/Geddes/Van Buren) today announced that the RLS Career Center in Syracuse will receive $5,000 for new computer equipment.
"The RLS Career Center is a wonderful community resource," Magnarelli said. "In addition to helping people find jobs, the center gives people the resources they need to maintain a job and construct a career plan."
The RLS Career Center is a not-for-profit career consulting agency providing individuals with career counseling and skills training, including education information, resume writing, interviewing, job search strategies, and links to employment opportunities. The center will use the funding secured through Magnarelli for new computer equipment to better operate its computer training classes.
"Jobs are an important issue in Central New York," Magnarelli said. "This funding will directly benefit workers and businesses in and around Syracuse."
This funding builds on Assemblyman Magnarelli's efforts to help workers find jobs and connect businesses with quality employees. Since joining the Assembly in 1999, Magnarelli has supported and secured funding for numerous local workforce development projects, including the Workforce Development Initiative, the Power for Jobs program, and the daVinci project.
"I remain committed to providing the resources our community's not-for-profit agencies need to effectively serve the people of Syracuse," Magnarelli concluded. "I look forward to continuing to work with local agencies to help find jobs for workers and provide good employees for area businesses."
