Assemblywoman Weinstein in the Community
Annually on the 17th Anniversary of the Gulf War, Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein,
Fraser Community leaders and area residents gather at the Major McCarthy Memorial on
Kings Highway to pay tribute to those men and women who sacrifice their lives daily for
our country.
Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein joined 63rd Precinct Captain Frank Cangiarella, Chaim
Deutsch, President of the Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol, to honor the bravery and courage of
a young boy which lead to the arrest of his attackers. The Assemblywoman presented the
young hero and the Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol with NYS Assembly Certificates in
recognition of their service to the community.
Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein discussed Consumer Debt Protection at a recent meeting
with members of the Philip Howard Senior Association.
At East 43rd Street Block Association's Annual Block Party Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein
presented Certificates of Merit to students for academic excellence as Sandra Greenhouse, Block
Association President, looked on.

Assemblywoman Weinstein, a sponsor of Bayfest, joined children during one of the many fun
and educational activities at the 15th Annual Bayfest festival in Sheepshead Bay.

63rd Precinct Commanding Officer Deputy Inspector Frank Cangiarella and Community Board
18 District Manager Dorothy Turano were on hand to congratulate the 63rd Precinct Community
Council President, Flo Hirsch, officers and board members at the annual installation of new officers
and board members. The event was also a celebration of the council's continued dedication to
improving the quality of life for the community.
At the 61st Precinct Community Council meeting Assemblywoman Weinstein joined 61st Precinct
Caption George Mastrokostas, and Council President Yves Etienne in presenting the "Cops of
the Month", Police Officers, Daniel Lacalamita, Steven Fintey, and Edwin Vargas with Assembly
Certificates of Merit for arrests made in response to a rash of burglaries.
