Assemblywoman Weinstein looked on as officers etched a constituent's VIN number in her
windshield to help prevent car theft. The program hosted at her office in conjunction with the
61st Precinct Crime Prevention Unit, helps Police identify your vehicle faster if stolen, and
may reduce your car insurance premium.
Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein recently held a meeting at her community office for residents
of East 52nd Street to discuss remediation of quality of life issues in the community. A follow-up meeting
was held with the residents and 67th Precinct Commanding Officer Inspector Corey Pegues.
Assemblywoman Weinstein joined Councilman Lewis Fidler to celebrate the installation of
a new traffic signal at the accident-prone intersection of 'Brigham Street and Avenue V in
response to letters from both elected officials.
Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein arranged a security briefing between Rabbi Shmiel Deutsch,
Executive Director of Yeshiva Lev Bais Yaakov, and Lieutenant James Woods, NYPD Brooklyn
Borough South, at the Yeshiva's new school on Nostrand Avenue.
Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein joined Councilman Lewis Fidler and community
and civic leaders, at a meeting with the NYC Department of Transportation to discuss
the agency's traffic plan to improve safety along the Gerritsen Avenue corridor. The
elected officials and community residents, while supportive of pedestrian safety measures,
suggested safer alternative routing of proposed bike lanes. Those lanes were soon after
eliminated from the proposed plans.
Teachers and young students from Yeled V'Yalda's Headstart program celebrated the installation of
a new traffic light at East 78th Street and Ralph Avenue that was the result of the joint efforts of
Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein and Councilman Lewis Fidler.
