“We cannot allow this dangerous garbage station plan to move forward! I hope to see you at the August 5th Rally to demonstrate community solidarity!”
– Assemblyman Colton

Assemblyman Colton knows that a garbage station at the former incinerator site (Shore Parkway & Bay 41st Street) will wreak havoc on our families and environment. That is why he has taken this fight through the streets with protests, water with flotillas, and town halls with meetings. Now our fight moves to the courtroom.

Despite an irresponsible decision by the DEC commissioner granting the city a garbage station permit, Assemblyman Colton has taken our fight against this harmful plan to court. Assemblyman Colton is determined to win in court to stop this plan just like he did in the early 1990’s when he led a successful lawsuit to shut down the former Southwest Brooklyn incinerator.

Assemblyman Colton has exposed harmful toxins and munitions shells buried across Gravesend Bay that will be dispersed and set off as a result of the dangerous garbage station plan. He is prepared to wage a careful and lengthy legal battle to protect our neighborhood.
