Under the new Middle Class STAR Rebate Program, homeowners must apply for their rebate checks and must receive the Basic STAR exemption to qualify

The Department of Taxation and Finance will begin mailing applications to Westchester County homeowners in September

Applications are due November 30. Homeowners can also apply online at www.tax.state.ny.us/star/2007 by the November 30 deadline

Enhanced STAR recipients - eligible seniors 65 and older - will receive their checks automatically, without needing to complete any application

Only homeowners currently enrolled in Basic or Enhanced STAR programs are eligible to receive rebate checks. If you don’t receive the Basic or Enhanced STAR exemption, apply next year at www.orps.state.ny.us/star/faq.htm or call your local assessor’s office
