JOINT - ASSEMBLY STANDING COMMITTEES ON CORPORATIONS, AUTHORITIES AND COMMISSIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION, GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS, ENERGY, OVERSIGHT, ANALYSIS AND INVESTIGATION and THE COMMISSION ON GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

In December of 2012, Governor Cuomo issued Executive Order 88 directing State agencies and authorities to increase energy efficiency by twenty percent in seven years. Complementing this goal, the Assembly Corporations, Authorities and Commissions Committee is considering A.3640 (Brennan) and A.3642 (Brennan) that would require the 18 largest State public authorities and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to meet certain energy conservation targets and prepare and implement energy conservation and waste management plans. This hearing will provide an opportunity for agency and authority officials to present testimony on efforts underway to improve the use of sustainable resources and energy efficiency at State authorities and agencies.

Persons invited to present pertinent testimony to the Committees and Commission at the above hearing should complete and return the enclosed reply form as soon as possible. It is important that the reply form be fully completed and returned so that persons may be notified in the event of emergency postponement or cancellation.

Ten copies of any prepared testimony should be submitted at the hearing registration desk. The Committees and Commission would appreciate advance receipt of prepared statements.

In order to meet the needs of those who may have a disability, the Assembly, in accordance with its policy of non-discrimination on the basis of disability, as well as the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), has made its facilities and services available to all individuals with disabilities.
