Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay Announces 6th Annual Local Landscape And Landmark Art Exhibit
Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R,C-Pulaski) announced the return of the annual Local Landscapes and Landmarks Visual Art Exhibit, presented in partnership with the ArtAssociation of Oswego, Inc. and the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce. The exhibit will open on Friday, Oct. 17, from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Art Association of Oswego, Inc., located at 30 Barbara Donahue Dr. in Oswego, and will remain on display through Nov. 9.
The annual exhibit provides a venue for local artists to share their work and celebrate the landmarks, waterways and scenery that exemplify central New York. Now in its sixth year, the program has become an important part of the community’s cultural calendar, bringing together artists, families and residents in recognition of the region’s creativity and heritage.
“This exhibit is more than an art show—it’s a celebration of the stories and scenery that make central New York so unique,” said Leader Barclay. “Each piece reflects not only the creativity of the artist, but also the pride we share in our landscapes, history and communities. I am grateful to the Art Association of Oswego and the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce for helping make this event possible. Their partnership allows us to showcase the remarkable talent in our region and ensure residents and visitors alike can experience the charm of central New York in a new way.”
Eligible artists must reside within the 120th Assembly District, which includes Oswego County and parts of Jefferson and Cayuga County. Accepted art includes watercolors, photography, original prints, pen and ink, acrylic and pencil. Submissions are due by Thursday, Oct. 9, and may be delivered to Leader Barclay’s District Office at 19 Canalview Mall, Fulton, NY 13069 or the Art Association of Oswego, Inc. Each piece should include the artist’s contact information and a brief description attached to the back.
Entries will be judged, with first- and second-place winners in each category receiving local restaurant gift cards. Following the show, pieces from the exhibit may also be chosen for display at the Legislative Office Building in Albany. Leader Barclay’s office will hold those works until April of 2026, when artists will be contacted for pickup.
