What Offices Are Looking For Help?
Each of the 150 Members maintains an Albany and local "district" office. Members holding leadership positions, or who are committee chairs or ranking minority members of standing committees, often employ additional staff to help meet those responsibilities.
There are also central staffs accountable to the Speaker of the Assembly or the Minority Leader. Some of them have legislative roles, such as fiscal analysis, program development, committee and Member Services, Assembly floor operations, and communications. Others are administrative and do budgeting, human resources, accounting, maintenance, printing, purchasing, inventory control and other "housekeeping" functions.
Each Member's office and many central staffs are associated with either the Assembly's majority or minority political party delegation.
While most jobs are in Albany the Assembly has employees statewide.
