CONGRATULATING Christian Jerome upon the occasion
of capturing the NYSPHSAA Boys Swimming and Diving
Championship in the 100-yard butterfly on March 8,
2025
WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate
Christian Jerome upon the occasion of capturing the NYSPHSAA Boys
Swimming and Diving Championship in the 100-yard butterfly at Ithaca
College in Ithaca, New York, on Saturday, March 8, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Representing Hoosic Valley, Christian Jerome clinched the
100-yard butterfly with an outstanding time of 48.04 seconds; and
WHEREAS, Christian Jerome entered the meet with a 100-yard butterfly
seed time of 48.17, then in the preliminaries, he secured the top spot
for finals with a smooth 48.62; under the bright lights of the
championship heat, he rose to the occasion, touching the wall in a
personal-best time of 48.04 to claim the NYSPHSAA title for the 100-yard
butterfly; and
WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by this young man is due in
great part to the efforts of Head Coach Rob MacLeod, a skilled and
inspirational tutor, respected for his ability to develop potential into
excellence; and
WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride
and accomplishment, and Christian Jerome has clearly contributed to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of his school; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Christian Jerome upon the occasion of capturing the
NYSPHSAA Boys Swimming and Diving Championship in the 100-yard butterfly
on March 8, 2025; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Christian Jerome, and Head Coach Rob MacLeod.
