“I’m relieved and I commend the Court for its ruling upholding patient access to the mifepristone, an important reproductive health care option. While the final outcome will remain for the lower courts to decide, I’m proud that the New York State Assembly acted this week to expand birth control access to patients in our state, giving licensed physicians, certified nurse practitioners and the health commissioner the ability to order a range of contraceptive and healthcare services. No matter what other parts of the country do, New York will continue to strengthen patient and physician protections and options.”
