Miller Presented Lincoln-Davies Co. With Historic Preservation Registry Distinction
Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,I,C-New Hartford) presented Lincoln-Davies Co. with its recent New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry distinction. Lincoln-Davies, a 150-year-old business, began as a general store serving the local community and rural farm industry. Now the business is an extensive building supply company. It was Miller who nominated the company for this distinction.
“Small businesses help shape our communities and history. Lincoln-Davies Co. is just that kind of business, which is why I was so pleased to nominate Ed Jones’ exceptional operation for the NYS Historic Business Preservation Registry,” said Miller. “It started as a general store and now is a full-service building supply store, and it has been serving generations of families and the farming industry for 150 years, which is something we can all celebrate.”
The NYS Historic Preservation Registry was created by law in 2020. Legislators, the governor and the lieutenant governor nominate businesses to the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation which administers the registry. Eligible businesses must be more than 50 years old and must have had a historic impact on the local community.
