Cuomo’s Illegal I Love NY Signs Costing State $14 Million In Federal Funding
A statement from Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,I-New Hartford)
February 1, 2018
“It seems there is one poor decision after another coming out of the governor’s office these days, all of which are costing the taxpayers money. Over the last several years, the governor spent more than $8 million to put blue ‘I Love NY’ signs up on highways across the state, even though they are illegal. Now, as a direct result of that decision, the federal government is withholding $14 million in funding that we need to repair and maintain our aging and crumbling roads. Apparently a $22 million mistake is nothing in Albany these days. This is unacceptable. The governor should use his campaign account to pay back the taxpayers for the $8 million he spent on the signs and cover the $14 million in federal aid we are now losing.”
