“After a great deal of concern was expressed by myself, other state legislators and, most importantly, our residents that state tax dollars were being abused for non-compliant highway signs, the governor has agreed to take them down. Once the signs are taken down, the federal government has agreed to reinstate the $14 million for highway maintenance it threatened to withhold. I think this was a case of New York state residents expressing their outrage and concern over how their tax dollars are being spent and holding the governor accountable. I applaud our residents for speaking out against this misuse of their hard earned money. Rest assured I will continue to fight for more oversight and accountability when it comes to the governor’s spending of your tax dollars.”
