After his long bout with COVID-19 Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,I,C-New Hartford) is back out in the district hearing the concerns of constituents and delivering hand sanitizer to help keep residents safe and healthy.

“While I was still recovering, my staff did a wonderful job getting out to the towns in our seven counties,” said Miller. “I want to make sure our communities have the resources to stay healthy. Now that I’ve been cleared to be back out in public, I’m happy to be in the district again and once again listening to our constituents – albeit in a safe and socially distant manner.”

Over the last couple of months, Assemblyman Miller had directed staff to deliver hand sanitizer to the municipalities he represents in parts of seven Upstate New York counties. The towns have been able to use the hand sanitizer in their offices for staff and visitors, as well as disseminate them throughout the community. With the latest delivery to his offices, and Miller back on his feet, the Assemblyman joined staff as they start delivering to local libraries. Most recently, he was in Orange and Ulster counties visiting the Pine Bush Area Public Library, the Josephine-Louise Library, the Wallkill Public Library, and the Ellenville Public Library & Museum.

“Assemblyman Miller has always been a great supporter of and advocate for the Wallkill Public Library and other libraries in our region,” said Library Manager, Lisa Palmer. “He is always accessible and always stops in when he is in the area. We are so pleased to see him healthy again. I’m grateful for the opportunity to discuss with him the impact COVID-19 has had on libraries. The hand sanitizer he and the staff delivered will be put to good use as we have begun to open the library back up to the public again.”

Miller was diagnosed with COVID-19 back in March and spent a month in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Luke’s Campus – Mohawk Valley Health System. During that time, his offices remained up and running to help constituents with any issues they were experiencing, especially issues with unemployment benefits.
