Miller Distributes Hand Sanitizer to Local Libraries
Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,I,C,Ref-New Hartford) recently delivered free hand sanitizer to local libraries in Delaware County, including the Andes Public Library, on July 29, 2020 (pictured above). He also made deliveries to the Cannon Free Library in Delhi and Bovina Public Library in Bovina Center.
“Our public libraries are not only the heart of our community but also the gateway to our imagination,” said Miller. “During this time when so many are staying at home, enjoying a ‘staycation’ instead of a vacation, or simply having more free time to try new hobbies or finally read that Great American Novel, there are so many reasons to visit your local public library right now. It’s safe to do, free, and I’m very pleased to help provide hand sanitizer so that the experience can be even safer for more people to enjoy.”
While most public libraries have reopened in some capacity, it is always best to check their websites or call ahead to make sure they will be open, as many have limited hours or may be offering curb-side checkout only. Borrowing materials from public libraries is safe to do, according to the Center for Disease Control, and a great way to keep your mind active or learn a new skill or hobby during this time when more people have more free time than before.
