Assembly Member Chantel Jackson, LMSW, joins LinkNYC for a Senior Cyber Security Workshop at Andrew Freedman Home
Bronx, NY – In collaboration with LinkNYC, the public-private partnership responsible for building the world's largest and fastest public Wi-Fi network, Assembly Member Jackson hosted a Senior Cyber Security Workshop at Andrew Freedman Home. The workshop taught seniors information concerning how to access and use the internet safely and raise awareness about online scams.
The workshop included laptops, refreshments, and a comprehensive informational packet to reinforce the lessons. Assembly Member Landon Dais and Council Member Althea Stevens’ offices also attended to share resources and information about upcoming events.
As technology advances, it's crucial to ensure seniors aren't left behind. Cybersecurity workshops bridge the digital divide by offering tailored guidance and support to help seniors navigate the complexities of the online world safely. Cybercriminals often target seniors due to perceived vulnerabilities. Workshops like these empower them to protect their personal information, reducing the risk of identity theft, fraud, and other cybercrimes.
