Assemblyman Friend To Hold Town Hall Meeting In Berkshire, NY

New York State Assemblyman Chris Friend will hold a town hall meeting Thursday, November 29 in Berkshire, Tioga County.

“The State Legislature may be in recess, but the fight to get government out of the way of job creators, cut government spending and find mandate relief for our local governments to reduce our property taxes must still be waged,” Friend said. “I hope that residents of the area will come to this meeting to share their thoughts and ideas on priorities for the next round of budget battles.”

The redistricting process that follows the national census every 10 years has changed district boundaries and all of Tioga County will be represented in the 124th Assembly District starting January 1, 2013. Town hall meetings provide an opportunity for residents of the district to meet together, express opinions and speak directly with Assemblyman Chris Friend, who was recently reelected to his second term.

“These public town hall meetings are essential to being a good representative. I learn from the conversations, and while we may not always agree, we can better understand one another and realize that we all must work together to move forward together.”

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 pm Thursday, November 29 at the Berkshire Town Hall, 18 Railroad Avenue, Berkshire, NY.

Those unable to attend the meeting can contact Assemblyman Friend directly at his office, 607-301-0302, or by email at friendc@assembly.state.ny.us.
