Friend: We Must Lower Taxes, Eliminate Unfunded Mandates Placed On New Yorkers
In response to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s State of the State address, Assemblyman Christopher S. Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats) today highlighted New York’s need to reduce taxes on the middle class and pass real county and school unfunded mandate relief during the 2013 Legislative Session.
“New York’s families and businesses are being strangled by the escalating taxes and fees they are forced to pay,” said Friend. “This continued burden placed on taxpayers is unconscionable and must be reduced this year.
“This legislature must place its focus on helping state residents. I am hopeful that this year we will enact the many tax cuts and reforms that New York families and businesses so desperately need. I look forward to working with the governor and my legislative colleagues to bring real relief to taxpayers.”
