Friend: Gov. Changes His Tune On Who Is Welcome In New York
Assemblyman Christopher S. Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats) is calling out Gov. Andrew Cuomo for his hypocrisy regarding the governor’s advertising of buttons stating, “Everyone is Welcome in New York.” Last year, the governor stated those who held traditional beliefs on marriage, supported the Second Amendment Right to bear arms, and a conservative ideology overall were unwelcome in the state during an interview.
“This governor is continuing his legacy of hypocrisy,” Friend said. “Just a year ago, he said conservatives have no place in this state; but now, when he can collect a few email addresses for his state political party, he says everyone is welcome. He claims New York is ‘Open for Business’, but not for those seeking regulated gas drilling in the Southern Tier. Gov. Cuomo seems to only be tolerant of those views that he himself holds. No amount of rhetoric or free giveaways will ever change that.”
