Friend: How Did The Governor Forget Glenwood Meetings?
Assemblyman Christopher S. Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats) is calling out Gov. Cuomo for claiming he never met with Glenwood Management and its founder Leonard Litwin. Litwin and Glenwood donated heavily to the governor’s campaign account, and held several meetings with him on the topic of rent control. The company is at the heart of the corruption arrests that have shocked the Legislature.
“I find it very hard to believe Gov. Cuomo forgot he held these meetings with Glenwood, one of his largest campaign contributors,” Friend said. “These are meetings held on the tumultuous topic of rent control, dealing specifically with an area where he draws much of his support in New York City. The governor must either have a highly-selective memory or he didn’t want to admit to meeting with an organization at the center of the Skelos and Silver indictments. It’s time for the governor to come clean about meeting with Glenwood Management.”
