Friend: Governor Must Get Serious About Medicaid Reform
A statement by Assemblyman Christopher S. Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats)
January 15, 2016
“The governor’s proposal regarding Medicaid reform at the local level simply does not go far enough to alleviate the strain felt by our counties. The state currently has all the funds it needs to assume the entire cost of Medicaid. To continue to string local municipalities along and force them to jump through hoops to pay for a program that should be handled at the state level is unfair, and shows a reluctance to tackle the real problem of unfunded mandates.”
