“I want to thank Governor Cuomo and his team for his announcement today to bring much needed high-speed Internet to Columbia County as a part of his New NY Broadband Program. Ensuring access to fast and reliable broadband in our rural county has been a priority of mine since I was first elected. Earlier this year we hosted the governor’s broadband team in Columbia County to meet with the community group Connect Columbia and county leadership in an effort to help all parties better understand both the significant local need and the state’s opportunities. Today's announcement grows out of that meeting and reflects a critical investment for the region that will help the county grow smartly, attract young people and vibrant businesses, and develop a true 21st century economy.”
