Ra Reacts to Hochul’s Budget Proposal

A Statement From Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square).

“The governor’s $227 billion budget proposal leaves much to be desired for Long Island taxpayers. While the investments in key areas like mental health and childcare are welcome, this proposal fails to address the needs of New Yorkers in the areas of public safety and affordability. In particular, the proposal to increase the MTA Payroll Tax will add to the already-crushing tax burden on Long Island’s small businesses that are struggling to emerge from the pandemic. As budget hearings begin on Monday, I look forward to advocating for a responsible spending plan that helps lift the burden on New York’s middle-class families and small businesses and truly takes seriously the toll increased crime is having on our communities.”
