"On Memorial Day, we remember the countless brave men and women who laid down their lives so we could be free. We owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. Today we pause to remember their extraordinary sacrifice and keep in our thoughts the families and loved ones who continue to carry the weight of that loss.
As millions of Americans enjoy time with friends, participate in parades, and gather together, let’s remember that we are able to enjoy these freedoms because of the courage and selflessness of those who gave everything in service to our nation. Their legacy—and the sacrifices made by those they left behind—will never be forgotten.”
