Assemblyman Ra Joins Local Leaders To Celebrate Victory For West Hempstead Community
Assemblyman Ed Ra (21st Assembly District) recently joined Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray, Town Councilman Ed Ambrosino, Nassau County Legislator Vincent Muscarella and other local officials as they witnessed the start of demolition activity at the Courtesy Hotel in West Hempstead. Ra congratulated Rosalie Norton, President of the West Hempstead Community Support Association and the entire West Hempstead community on their victory in a long fight to close the hotel in order to jumpstart new economic development in the area.
“I commend Rosalie Norton for her advocacy and leadership on behalf of the community,” said Ra. “Rosalie worked closely with Supervisor Murray, Councilman Ambrosino, and the entire Town Board to shut down the Courtesy. Supervisor Murray has brought innovative development to the area which will spur further economic growth in West Hempstead. I began working on this project several years ago, and am committed in continuing to work with the community on economic development projects in my role as a state legislator. I am honored to participate in such an important day for the future of West Hempstead.”
