Thirst For The Title As Seniors Select Winner In “Fountain Of Youth” Taste Test
Municipalities compete for title of Long Island’s 2012 Best Tasting Water
Assemblyman Ed Ra (21st Assembly District) recently joined the Long Island Water Conference and elected officials from Hempstead and Garden City for the “Fountain of Youth” water tasting contest. During the contest, which was put on by the Long Island Water Conference and the Franklin Square Senior Center, local seniors judged water from four different water providers who vied for the title of Long Island’s 2012 Best Tasting Water. After all votes were compiled, Plainview Water District was chosen as the top water provider, while Franklin Square Water District finished a close second.
“Today’s contest was a fun way to highlight the outstanding job by the men and women from the water districts across Nassau County,” said Ra. “I want to thank the seniors who were gracious enough to participate. I also would like to take a moment and congratulate the Plainview Water District on being named the ‘Fountain of Youth’ winner.”
