Ra Celebrates National Nurses Week At Franklin Hospital

Assemblyman honors nurses with an Assembly Resolution

Assemblyman Ed Ra (21st Assembly District) recently presented a Legislative Resolution to the nurses at Franklin Hospital, which proclaimed May 6-12, 2012 as Nurses Week in New York State. Noting that nurses serve as the backbone of the healthcare industry, Ra stated that recognizing Nurses Week in New York highlights not only the tremendous role nurses play in providing medical and emotional care to a patient and their family, but also the crucial role nurses play in patient treatment.

“I am honored to present this Legislative Resolution proclaiming Nurses Week in New York State to the nurses here at Franklin Hospital,” said Ra. “Franklin Hospital provides outstanding care to members of our community through both their inpatient and outpatient services. However, they would not be able to provide this high level of care without their tremendous staff of nurses. They not only provide skilled medical care, but also work hard to build a relationship with the patient and their family by providing comfort and care in their time of need. I would like to take this opportunity to share my heartfelt appreciation for all the outstanding work done by the nurses here at Franklin Hospital and the nurses across Long Island.”

Franklin Hospital serves communities in Nassau and Southeastern Queens counties and is part of the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health Care System. Franklin Hospital was the 2011 recipient of Health Grades® Joint Replacement Excellence Award™.
