Ra: Repeal MTA Payroll Tax For Libraries
Assemblyman Ed Ra (Nassau County) today issued the following statement:
I applaud yesterday’s action by the Senate Majority in voting to repeal the MTA payroll tax for Long Island libraries. The announcement by Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and Senator Jack Martins (R-C-I, Mineola) shows their dedication to easing the burden on hardworking taxpayers.
I would like to use this opportunity to again call on the Assembly Majority to take up this legislation, A.8868-A, which I am co-sponsoring with my esteemed colleague, Assemblyman Abinanti. Long Islanders deserve tax relief and this initiative helps ease the financial burden on families across Nassau County and all of Long Island. Allowing local libraries to use their financial resources to provide expanded services to our communities, rather than paying this unfair tax, simply makes sense.
