Ra Hosts Press Conference To Unveil APPLE Plan
Comprehensive reform of Common Core, the fruit of months of hearings Video of Ra discussing plan can be found at http://youtu.be/4CGmXR5GfkA
Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) hosted a press conference today with his Assembly Minority colleagues to officially release the Achieving Pupil Preparedness and Learning Excellence (APPLE) Plan. The plan came as a result of the 11 public forums Ra, as Ranking Minority Member of the Assembly Education Committee, hosted across the entire state this past fall. Based on the recommendations of the stakeholders in our children’s education, parents and educators, Ra is confident the APPLE Plan remedies the flawed implementation of Common Core and provides a pathway to providing a world-class education for students in our state.
“Simply put, Common Core is failing our children, parents and educators,” said Ra. “The APPLE Plan takes the input of these people, the ones most invested in our children’s education, into account and halts the flawed implementation, standards and high-stakes testing of Common Core. With this comprehensive package, our educators can get back to what they do best – providing our children with the quality education they need to have a happy and successful future.”
