“The residents of New York State deserve to be represented by a government founded on integrity, honesty and transparency. Today, my colleagues and I called for reforms that would ensure that becomes a reality. These common-sense measures would shed light on the way the Assembly conducts business, and ultimately provide the public with greater access and understanding of the legislative process. When the Assembly leadership was in turmoil, many Assembly Majority members called for the reforms we are proposing today. They have since failed to deliver such important reforms. I hope our colleagues across the aisle will join us in our fight to restore the public’s faith in New York government.”
