Ra Seminar Promotes Identity Theft Awareness
Last week, Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) hosted a seminar to promote identity theft awareness at the West Hempstead Library. Ra was joined by Kenny Heino of Nassau County Consumer Affairs to educate his constituents about the importance of becoming more vigilant in defending themselves against identity theft.
“It’s so important to be aware of how common identity theft has become and what we can do to deter it,” said Ra. “As we continue to become more reliant on sharing personal information on the internet and allowing others to access it, we have to also recognize that we are more vulnerable to incidents of identity theft. The people who seek to exploit this information go to great lengths, so it is critical to raise awareness in order to protect ourselves from becoming victims.”
“Thank you to Kenny Heino and Nassau County Consumer Affairs for sharing such vital information with everyone in attendance, and for helping to make the event a great success. By working together at the state and local levels, we can do great things to strengthen and protect our communities,” Ra concluded.
