Over the weekend, Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) hosted his 2016 Women of Distinction event at the Albertson VFW Post 5253. On Saturday, September 17, friends and family gathered at the annual event to honor seven women from the 19th Assembly District who were recognized for their hard work and dedication to making their communities a better place.

“It’s a great honor to have these women live and work in our communities. Each year, it is important that we take time to let them know how much we appreciate all they do to improve their families, communities and careers,” said Ra. “Whether it’s in education, running a business or doing humanitarian work, they go above and beyond to make our communities great places to work and live.”

This year’s exceptional honorees include Rebecca Neuhedel (Garden City), Cristina Babolcsay (Franklin Square), Barbara Ruggiero (Garden City), Danielle Messina (Garden City Park), Nancy Benchimol (Glen Head), Maureen McEnerney (Garden City), and Nina Harris (Albertson).
