Ra Stands with Direct-Care Workers at Albany Rally
A Statement from Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) supporting a budget investment to protect direct-care workers.
“Following yesterday’s announcement that Governor Cuomo, Speaker Heastie and Leader Flanagan have reached an agreement to provide funding for those direct care workers below the minimum wage and to fund another wage increase next year for those workers I am proud that we have recognized the need to fund the #befair2DirectCare initiative in this year’s budget to protect direct-care workers and afford them adequate resources.
“Our Conference was first to speak out for these dedicated men and women, who regularly place the needs of others above their own. These workers are some of the most dedicated and compassionate men and women in the state and we have an obligation to provide them this additional support.”
