Ra Calls for Vote on Budget Bills Amidst Uncertainty From School Districts
A Statement from Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square)
April 4, 2017
“It is well beyond time to end these games the governor is playing and pass a full budget that provides appropriate education funding. The bloated, two-month budget extender we passed last night includes funding for failed economic programs like START-UP NY and pet programs like the Buffalo Billion but does nothing to address the rising uncertainty our school districts face as they prepare to offer next year’s budget proposals to voters in early May. When the governor says there should be no rush to adopt a budget he is failing to recognize the impact this delay will have on our school districts and local property taxpayers.”
