Ra Announces Newly-Appointed Attorney General
A statement from Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square)
May 22, 2018
“I am pleased to announce Acting Attorney General Barbara Underwood has been appointed as attorney general and will finish out the remainder of the current term as New York’s first female attorney general. Instead of appointing a party’s political candidate, we have taken a fairer route by appointing someone who is fully qualified for the position and who is not seeking re-election this fall, helping the upcoming race to be a bit more fair in my opinion. With years of experience as a prosecutor, a former professor at Yale Law School, and at the top of her class at Georgetown University, I have no doubt she will finish out this term in a respectful and just manner.”
