Ra Celebrates with Local Students who Completed Summer Reading Challenge

Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) hosted a celebration for the local students who completed the New York State Assembly 2018 Summer Reading Challenge at the Hillside Public Library on Tuesday, October 2.
Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) was pleased to celebrate with the local students who successfully completed the New York State Assembly 2018 Summer Reading Challenge on Tuesday, October 2 at the Hillside Public Library. Over 30 children completed the challenge and were in attendance with their families to participate in crafts, doughnut decorating and other activities. Ra presented each child with an Excellence in Reading Certificate from the New York State Assembly.
“While school is now back in session, it is wonderful to see so many students enthusiastic about staying sharp over the summer by completing the summer reading challenge,” said Ra. “While summer is a time for children to enjoy being outside, going on trips and more freedom in general, it is important for us to encourage them to continue to stay sharp by doing things like reading in their free time as well. I am so proud of those students who completed this challenge and look forward to hosting it again next year.”
