“At times, the governor’s State of the State Address felt more like a partisan political rally. He blamed Minority politicians in the state Senate for not rubber-stamping his entire progressive agenda. He blamed Minority politicians in Washington for the state’s economic issues. He blamed the administration for our budget deficit.

“The reality is, the governor has had two terms to work with the Minority and the Majority in the Legislature to cut our property taxes, promote economic opportunity and put our state on stable fiscal footing. If the governor wants to move our state forward, he can’t blame politicians in Washington. He needs to work with members on both sides of the aisle in Albany who are focused on delivering for their communities. This session, I’m focused on working with the governor to invest in critical infrastructure, provide support for direct-care professionals and ensure that our towns, villages and schools on Long Island get their fair share,” said Ra.
