“In less than one year of one-party rule, Majority has cut state aid to Long Island municipalities and imposed new taxes on suburban commuters. Now, adding insult to injury, millions of New Yorkers will be forced to purchase new license plates. Instead of accounting for the cost in the state’s $175 billion budget, hardworking taxpayers will be charged $25 for the new plate and an additional $20 to keep their license plate number.

“Nearly a million residents have fled New York’s stifling taxes and endless fees for states that promote affordability and economic opportunity. The governor won’t call this what it is, so we must- it’s a $75 million tax on the middle class. We’ve had enough.”
