Albany’s Priorities Aren’t New Yorkers’ Priorities

A Statement by Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square)

“On their way out of Albany this week, Assembly Majority lawmakers reminded middle-class New Yorkers how little they have in common with them. Most New Yorkers are deeply concerned about public safety. Assembly Majority members did nothing to address this violent crime wave and did nothing to support our law enforcement. Most New Yorkers are eager to move on from the pandemic and move forward. Assembly Majority has refused to even repeal the state of emergency declaration authorizing the governor’s COVID-19 powers.”

“Assembly Minority lawmakers were laser-focused on economic freedom and public safety. Assembly Majority was focused on covering for the governor.”
