Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo Announces 2026 NYIACSL Scholarship Opportunities for Local Students

Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo (R,C-Sayville) announced that applications are now being accepted for the 2026 New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators (NYIACSL) scholarships, offering financial support to motivated students pursuing higher education.

This year’s scholarship program includes two awards: the Senator James D. Conte Memorial Academic Scholarship and the Senator John J. Marchi Memorial Athletic Scholarship, each valued at $3,000. Eligible students interested in either award can apply through the NYIACSL online application form.

“I’m proud to share this meaningful opportunity for our community’s high school seniors and college students,” said Gandolfo. “These scholarships not only provide financial relief as students embark on or continue their college journey but also recognize academic achievement, community involvement and dedication. I encourage all eligible applicants to consider applying.”

Scholarship Eligibility Highlights:

  • Demonstrated academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 85 or higher.
  • Good conduct and a demonstrated commitment to pursuing and completing a higher education.
  • Active involvement in community and extracurricular activities.
  • Residency within the Assembly district of an active New York Italian-American Conference member.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • For the athletic scholarship, students must also be involved in organized sports.

Applicants do not need to have Italian heritage to qualify but must reside in a district represented by an active conference member.

Students interested in applying may visit the NYIACSL scholarship application page at https://www.nyiacsl.org/apply-for-scholarship-form to submit their materials before the March 16, 2026 deadline.

Award recipients will be contacted directly by their Assembly or Senate member and are highly encouraged to attend the annual scholarship awards ceremony, typically held in Albany during Italian-American Day celebrations.
