Assemblymember Jonathan Jacobson (D-104) announced that he has received a 100% score on the New York League of Conservation voters’ 2021 Legislators Scorecard that was released by the environmental advocacy group last week.

Assemblymember Jacobson said, “I am extremely proud of my perfect score from the New York League of Conservation Voters as I believe it reflects my deep commitment to protecting and preserving our natural environment whether that’s right here in the Hudson Valley, across the state and country, or around the globe.

“In Albany, I successfully fought to have $20 million included in the 2021 budget to replenish the state’s depleted Lead Service Line replacement program. This money will help homeowners replace lead contaminated pipes that carry water from the street into residences.

“I have passed new legislation (A.2330) directing the Public Service Commission to study the feasibility of burying the power lines - which will facilitate the generation and transmission of green energy, and introduced a new bill (A.8057) directing the Department of Transportation to promulgate rules for the standardization of public charging stations for electric vehicles.

“I have also helped to pass numerous environmental bills, including A.4302 which sets a goal for all in-state sales of new passenger cars and trucks be zero-emissions by 2035 and A.903, which prohibits the use of heavily contaminated wastewater from fracking to de-ice roads in winter.

“I thank the New York League of Conservation Voters for their advocacy and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future,” Jacobson concluded.
